Simple mushroom recipe

Real simple and fabulous mushroom dish. My initial recipe was recently improved when my buddy Birddog was over, visiting.

Two packs baby portabellas (my choices at the grocery store where I now live are 'Bellas, Baby 'Bellas, or white).

1 Can beef broth

Dash or two of Worchestershire sauce.

Dash of sea salt.

Dash of fresh ground pepper.

Some of that beer you're drinking.

A few cloves of Garlic.

A couple pats of butter.

*Birddog's secret addative- a pinch or two of Herbs De Provence.

Method-

Clean the 'shrooms.

Rinse the shrooms.

Dump the ingredients in a pan, fire up the heat.

cook 'till tender, stirring occasionally.

Serve!

Eat some dang good mushrooms!

Those herbs- easier to find than you may think.

Not at the Shaws or Stop & shop places, but at Trader Joes and Whole Foods.

At least around here. I'm guessing your area has different names for 'em.

If you can't find any, I'll send you a "lid".

Tough for me to get to the places that sell it here, without grovelling for a ride, but if I can, I'll grab you a container.

Best used on chicken, but for some reason, with mushrooms and beef broth, it works well.

nothing more than a French herb blend, really.

It's a mix of, in descending order....

Winter Savory

Thyme

Rosemary

Basil

Tarragon

Lavender Flowers.

Scott, never a trouble.

I'll empty half my stash into a baggy for you if need be.

But you'll need to answer to the USPS to what it is. That's all. laugh.gif

All this talk of shrooms and lids is bringing back imagined memories. soundt/afro.gif

Seriously, though, sounds like an excellent recipe. I'll give it a try soon.
