Are there outside influences on the hard drive? we know LPs sound better than CDs. So if we are taking some of the compression out of the CD that it was ripped from wouldn't it sound better?

I have some vinyl that sounds really bad, the same with some cds.
Dynamic compression also exists in vinyl, even in the master tapes...
IMO, old LPs like old cds sounds much better compared to today's mastering productions.

There's a great topic - IMHO - in ST about this subject here, but seems to me - by the few number of posts in that topic - that a lot of "audiophiles" are satisfied with the apparent/real "death of the High Fidelity"... biggrin.gif
