Ordered one of Ian's B-283 tube processors today. After reading some of the positive comments about the one he sent out for demos, I figured I'd better own one. I'll run my laptop with my mp3s through it and see what happens.......... tongue.gif

Can't hurt, can it? soundt/confused-smiley-013.gif

my guess is that you will like what it does to the sound of the mp3's. i will say without reservation that you would like it lots more using cd's.

I have very few albums, and even fewer CDs. I was never a huge fan of albums. I generally like only a select few songs by any artist, so I prefer singles. Most of my favorites were from artists who didn't put out albums. More like one or two hit wonders. The majority of my selections, unfortunately, are 128 bit mp3s.

My hearing isn't much better than that anyway.

dont sell yourself short Larry. even at the highest possible bit rate of 320 kbits, an mp3 contains only 1/4th of the digital information that is contained on a cd. your system is more than capable of presenting this "extra" information and i am confident that your ears will hear at least some of it. at the very least you should give cd's a try.

My B-283 showed up yesterday. The little buggers are cute!! I have it plugged in here in my office to give it about 48 hours of "burn-in" time. I'll take it in the house this weekend and give 'er a try! soundt/thumbup.gif

Let us know what you think Larry. I have also read the reviews, since 95+% of my listening is to vinyl I get the impression that I wouldn't benefit from this but it sounds like digital people have much to gain.
