Hi Everyone,
I bought an old Krell SPB-32X DAC recently and was wondering if someone could tell me something more about it. I know it was produced around 1990, so it's quite an old DAC. I bought in anyway because I never owned a Krell and was wondering how it would sound like. And of cource the price was a steal so the risk involved was small. Well, the thing is HUGE and is is very nicely build up. I hooked it up to my Wadia transport and it sounded very good. I did not have long listening sessions yet, but it think I like my EAD 7000 DAC just a bit more. The bass production of the Krell is special and therefore I think it would be a good choice for some types of music. I myself like to listen to Jazz and Classic and I think the EAD does a little bit better with these types of music. Although the difference is very small. this actually makes me feel better about my DAC. though your EAD is a step up, that mine is of the same pedigree is comforting.

For what it's worth. I think the EAD DAC is a great DAC. Certainly one of the better ones I own (and I own or have owned a lot of them), maybe even the best one. I will upload a picture of the Krell as soon as I get the chance.
