For reasons best left unaddressed, I am interested in buying a tube buffer that is not manufactured in China. Are there any good ones?

Thank you.

I may give this an audition. It's manufactured in California:

Musical Fidelity is one of the best known British manufacturers. I believe they make everything in-house.

Space-Tech make quite a few different tube buffers in Canada. In fact they produce an overwhelming quantity of different tube components.

Seems like a really nice buffer.
They say it's manufactured in California, that's ok, but maybe if you opened it you look inside and....probably saw a lot of electronic components all made in China.... biggrin.gif

We have discuss MF buffers in other topic, i use MF buffers in my system for a lot of years now, and my honest advice is: Why don't you talk to our fellow member Ian Grant to see if it's possible to test he's B-283 Tube Buffer ? wink.gif

It's an incredible buffer, one of the best imho.

Ian told me he had nothing more to discuss with me after I inquired about the wages and conditions of the Chinese workers who assemble his products. So much for customer service.

The MF buffer I just sold had "Made in Taiwan" stamped on the back.

Space Tech stuff looks very fine. Does anyone have personal experience with their gear?

If you get that buffer, I'd love to hear it. I'm having issues with my Thiels on certain recordings and think a tube buffer may help, short of swapping out amplification. Where in Mass are you located? I assume you're a Mass resident?

I'm near Quincy/Braintree. I'd love to meet a local STer.

I'd heard good things about their stuff. A little overpriced imo, but good.
