Zhaolu DAC D3.0

I have been thinking about an upgrade that would make the most difference in my setup, and this popped up. I figured for the price I couldnt go wrong. I have heard that these little baby's sound great.

Its being shipped tomorrow. should get next week sometime. Cant wait to give it a little listen.

I look forward to your review!

Todd, I've always found a DAC to be beneficial to my system, and getting one (actually four of them) was one one of my smarter moves.

Run a semi-decent cable with it.

Awesome! soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

ELNA BP & Duorex II capacitors installed in the power supply and analog section Wima & Nichicon Muse in Buffer Stage, Linear Technologies LT-1057 replaces the BurrBrown OPA604 Op-Amps in 2.0 version. Also, four digital inputs - inclusive a TG-Link high-speed buffer input. BNC, Toslink and TG-Link outputs.....just impressive!

Congrats and enjoy. user posted image

Oh, from what I gathered, it's all halvsies with you guys.
You were looking at those DQ-10s (Not to brag, but I have a pair all to myself now), and one was apparently going to Elroy's and one to Dingus.'
It was a mirrored set, linked by many miles of open space and houses

The only DAC I have is the "Great $50 DAC" that another audio website set a run on. Entech 203.2. I got mine right as they started to spike for a great $60.
It's remarkable sounding with my Toshiba CD. Didn't work well my Adcom, and I want to try it with the Harman Kardon I just picked up. I was astounded how much clearer and more musical CDs became with a DAC. EASILY one of the best investments in sound I have made. Bang for de buck, dere.

Here's some Specs:

24bit/96kHz test results :

SNR : ≤ - 115dB
Dynamic range : ≥ 113dB
Total Harmonic Distortion : - 100dB ( 0.001%)
Stereo separation : ≤ - 111dB 1KhZ ≤-108dB (300hZ——40KhZ)

Impressive. Don't you think? smile.gif

I have no doubts that you'll have an enormous improvement on your sound.

Btw, Zhaolu pronounced "Chow-Loo". wink.gif

not a huge number guy, dont like math or metrics. but over the years you see specifications over and over, and I havent seen too many in that range.

But what I always tell dingus, I cant believe that I can get anymore good sound out of what I got, and then I make a change and I am wrong. I am pretty sure this change will make another big improvement over the old entech 203.

Then, maybe you could do another improvement. biggrin.gif
Well, i don't know what's your opinion about cables....but, whatever that is, imo when we start to climb steps in the hi-fi ladder, cables matters big time.
Maybe you could ask Grant or Speakerman to try out two or three sets of coaxial/optical cables and , why not a pair or two of speaker cables aswell?! wink.gif

Just a thought... smile.gif

Here's an interesting link about cables:
