I was doing well in my rehab until I saw a CL ad for a Denon 1650AR. So I called MarkB and asked him to look at it and get it if it was a good one. He did and let me know it was now mine.

I've wanted this model since the first time I heard the one Mark had. I am really grateful to Mark for getting it for me.

Now I have to come up with a multiple source switch so I can have my own little audition. I plan on making all the IC's and using CDR's that are all made at the same setting. So with a SPL meter I can preset the volume so they all are outputting the same db's. I'm sure they may be some slight issue with the switch and sound degradation. However, all the players will be on the same footing so to speak.

Thanks agin Mark. You are a very good friend.

Mike

Hopefully I can drive down and visit Mark this Friday and pick it up. Then when the switch I found gets here I can set things up and take a few pics. My photo skills are less than quality so you'll have to bear with me.

Steeleye Span's Tempted and Tried should be a good demo album. It has Maddy's highs and Nigel's decent drumming to check the bass.

Sitting here drinking beer at 5 O on a friday morning, in honor of my ex GF, and listening to the very NICE HOUSES OF THE HOLY vinyls I picked up a while back. Oh, you meant the audio wagon...

It's okay, my show doesn't start for 3 hours.

as for the audio wagon, I have those Wharfedales I got a coupla weeks ago.
Speakers 27 and 28 or whatever they are...

Well I was recovering from the fall off the turnip wagon at Mark's house. Everthing was going well until I picked up the 1650. As we were listening to it I was blind sided by a runaway Yamaha CDX 1110U. smile.gif

So now I have another player to add to the mix and more IC's to make. Speaking of IC's I ordered 20 Canare F10 connectors and it came to 70.00. Those aren't even the more expensive connectors by a long shot. Luckily I had plenty of cable left over from the last time I made cables. So all I needed was some clear shrink tubing and connectors.

So it's looking like maybe next weekend I'll have them made and things up and running.

I'm using My-Te-Fine zipcord for the IC's. smile.gif

Yust kiddink, I bought some Canare Star Quad cable. I use it for everything, IC's Microphone cords and even speaker cable once in a while.
