these are my ultimate dream loudspeakers. rare in the U.S. but i nevertheless hope to obtain a pair someday. the four-way CS-G503s that i currently have serve me well, but nevertheless, these are the last word for me in a loudspeaker system...

if they can meet or exceed the sound quality of the Pioneer S-1010 then they are a fine loudspeaker indeed!

I've spent time with a few folks who owned these, and recently had a pair offered to me for $150, minus the woofers.

As you know, woofers in these are fragile, and rarely are found not shattered (graphite cones).

But... I already owned a pair of near-mint woofers.

Neverless, gave the woofers to a friend for restoring his pair, and let someone else snag the others.

A shame I passed, but my gear is nice and I'd not use these. Better where they'd get enjoyed.

Woofer is similar to a watkins one- a dual voicecoil design.

I have 2 pairs, and a custom matching center channel smile.gif

You are correct, they are the ultimate in loudspeakers!
I would rather sit in my living room and listen to music than go to concerts!!

If you have a your pictures on a place like "photobucket" you can attach the link using the http:// tab above the comments box.

If you take a pict of it and save it to your hardrive, you can save it as a gif, or resize it so its not huge and then attach it. The attachment tab is below the Quote box a little on the left, you will just need know where you saved the file is all.

So, I guess I have 3 sets of these now.
(and a set of DSS-E6, with a second set of those in the works!)

Mac Guyver, I have a set of Pioneer S-710 I want to get rid of, they are ribbon tweeter and graphite cone, maybe you are interested?
I will let them go for less than reconing these speakers will cost.
