My CA-2010 has made it into my office system taking the place of my Marantz 2285B. I'm running a pair of sealed bookshelf speakers that sounded a little tight on the Marantz. In Class A, the speakers sound crisper at low volume. I'm giving up warmth for detail and that is fine by me. The mids aren't as lush as the Marantz but the sound is cleaner.
I've been comparing Class A and B operation. Of course, I like the added power of B but switching between the two with the same volume setting does not show a difference in sound output. Class A is marginally richer and more detailed than B. Since I don't need mega-power for the office, A's 30 wpc is plenty. |

I see plenty of 410s, 610s, 810s and even 1010s, but not many of these! Nice find!
I enjoyed my 610 and 810 but ended up going for a warmer sound. The detail on Yamahas though, even the lower sub-class a 610 & 810, was impressive... -------------------- What you got back home, lil' sister, to play yer fuzzy warbles on? Pitiful, portable picnic players? Come with uncle & hear all proper! Hear angels trumpets & devils trombones. You are invited!

I used to have a 1010 and it is pretty much the same amp as the 2010 except for a little more power and better tone and volume controls. I also find the 2010 sound to be a little dry for my vinyl system. While the detail is nice, it doesn't have the body of say my Marantz 2285B. No matter, the 2010 is a keeper.
