Answered two ads for free stereo gear, speakers and tt. I was the first soundt/banana.gif and she added a cp that was in a third ad (I had originally passed on it). Drove to a nearby city and picked them up from the road (semi-private) Speakers were the A70s and a single Fisher (older and not like any I've seen). A-70s need foam and the grill cloths are a little ragged. Now have the A60, A70 and A150. All were free.

refoaming the A-70's is easy and you cant beat the price.

I've owned two versions of the series 1- round SEAS tweeter and BA dome on rectangular plate, both 6ohm models. I also owned the series II (BA rectangle tweeter) at 8 ohms. Lastly there was a series three- don't see 'em often.

I always found the A70 to be a better speaker than the EPI 100s and Dynaco a25s, better midrane than the former and better controlled (but not as deep) bass than the latter.

Also found them to be smoother than AR 4axs (can be harsh to my ears) and clearer than KLH 17 (wooly to my ear).

Congrats!

I've got A-40's and A-60's both pairs (sadly) stored away. Great sound for their size.
