Hi all!

I am after the following parts...

For my Thorens TD124:
• turntable shaft - maybe (mine has some scuffing on the bearing surface)
• the four rubber insulator grommets/feet - the primary mounting points (mine are perished badly - might have found alternatives on eBay though)
• original platter mat (there is some minor damage - visual only)
• the aluminium platter cover (there is some minor damage, as above)

For my SME 3009 pre-Imp:
• the headshell (*ugh* - mine was "misplaced" when I had left it out to remind me to get a new stylus)
• the rubber (?) "mushroom" for the arm lift
• the shield can for the underside

Yes, I am watching and bidding on some of these items on eBay but I keep missing out as many of these auctions seem to finish at times I am fast asleep. Some of these items need not be genuine parts, like the rubber grommets that I am sure I can find alternatives but it'd be nice to do things properly. I don't want to (ok, I can't afford to) spend a huge amount but I do want to fix this thing up as best as I can.

You can email me if you like (marc at datrally dot net), post a reply here or message me here.

Bear in mind I am in Australia wink.gif

Thanks!

there is some snipe type software that will let you go to bed, and you put in a high bid and it will snipe the goods at the last second, not sure if you know about that, I dont know exactly what it is, but I am sure a couple folks here would know if you dont.

I guess I should try those. I have been buying and selling (thankfully more selling) stuff on eBay for seven years and have generally been a last minute bidder/sniper but have never tried these software bidding packages.

The other bloody annoying issue is postage. I have found replacement mounting grommets for the Thorens in Germany and for just 1 euro! Problem is this guy wants over 19 euro to post them to me sad.gif Now I don't think that is very genuine and it's so typical of (usually) Hong Kong traders who sell 50¢ bargains and charge $50 postage.
