I think the prices of "vintage" audio equipment might slip some, but as things get more expensive and people have less disposable cash, they might find more time to entertain themselves at home with their music.

A local audiophile dealer is hurting bad. They took a big hit from the WGA strike last year and now with the threat of a SAG strike and the terrible economy, they are closing two of their stores and downsizing the third. In order to save rent, they no longer have an audition room. I shopped them for a CDP and they are down to two lines, NAD and Rotel. Now that's sad. They used to have Mac, Conrad Johnson, Martin Logan, B&W, etc.

all I know is that I am using a cr-1020 as my pre-amp, not refined at all but it works, and whey I get a couple months into my home loan default then I might get it fixed. I think people wont be buying anything for a while and they will definitely use what is at hand and nothing else.
we are a spoiled, and want basic, which is basic cable +, the extended, high speed internet, "for me, no home phone", keep heater on 62 degrees, good paying job, huge house payment, 300 car payment, food, gas, beer, kid basics, insurance, and it leaves a lot of nothing. not whining, just going to make a change soon. elroy -------------------- I got nothing

It's here too! But we were already being "tight" as I have been on long service leave but I chose double leave at half pay.
The government gave us about $3500 in December as part of their "stimulus package"... but we chucked that straight on the mortgage and didn't spend it as they wanted us to do. It's going to get worse before it gets better but at least I have a safe job... really, safe as houses! -------------------- "There are two major products that come out of the University of Berkeley: LSD and UNIX.
