Monday, I stopped by the thrift where I got my McIntosh 6100. There was a Nakamichi 3 cp. Tested it out and found the "Rew" didn't work and "Play" might be running a little fast (no tape). It was in nice condition otherwise, but I left it. Went yesterday and the Nak was still there with two knobs missing soundt/confused-smiley-013.gif . WTF. Unless you have another Nak, why? It was only $7.99 and would've been worth parts if you had another. Number one reason why I was glad they brought the Mac out rather than have me wait and come back. Same thing happened to a Pioneer SX-780 last week though someone may have finally bought it.

The removal of knobs rubs me wrong too. It's like sticking your fingers in a pie and ruining it for everyone else.

Saw a small Yammie R-300 yesterday. All knobs missing. What the hell are they doing with all the small black plastic knobs! soundt/pirate.gif

I found a Pioneer PL-560 some time ago at the local DAV store. Nearby, I found the headshell and cartridge on the floor - it was an Audioquest moving coil. Needless to say, it now needed a retip. soundt/post-2-1162594343.gif
