Saw a OC CL ad for some K-Horns in San Diego. Headline was badly written with "$2" price. Opened it and read that they were being sold for a widow and price was $2395. I wrote and said the headline needed to be fixed. Didn't care about the $2 but can't help someone if you don't spell right. Got an email back with a few choice words telling me he did it on purpose so he could multiple post

I commonly see adds listed w/ a $1 price to entice you to read the copy. I don't practice this policy, and it is a little irritation, but I don't let it get under my skin. If the item is what I want, in a condition that corresponds with the price I'm willing to pay, the sellers personal conduct will not prevent me from loosing out on the purchase.

FYI :
If you don't put a price in the title, it automatically puts $1 there (unless you open an account.) Also, if there is anything other than digits in the title price, it will sometimes "round". I recently listed something for $1.50/ft., and it changed it to $2. Not always the poster's fault. -------------------- IN ORDER TO BE OLD AND WISE, YOU MUST FIRST BE YOUNG AND STUPID

When I open it and see "best offer," or "serious buyers only," and/or a price is stated price, it's the seller's fault (usually the case in my experience). I've answered several "$1" ads with offers of .50¢. Had a heated exchange with one but in a following ad he didn't do the $1 crap. On the flip side there is an a$$wipe from the San Diego area who has multiple ads offering to buy old stereo equipment. In one he offers "monster cash" and says he will send you an offer on the spot. Nothing but crap. He wants you to send pics and state a price. If you seem to know what you have he won't reply. Ask for an offer, he won't reply. C/L "wanteds" are mainly posted by a number of a$$wipes. Given the fact that at any given time 97% of the wanted items are listed for sale you end up wasting time and effort dealing with a chucklehead.
