Killin' Me, I tell Ya

Called the seller of the orphans last night. Told me he found another speaker about the size of the Lancer L-77 and some other stuff. Got down there about noon and found ..... a plastic boxed Magnavox . Oh well, I wanted to see if i could find the legs to the JBLs anyway. Looked all over the property (the condition it's in made that an adventure) found nothing. Then I took a look a second (or fourth) look at a big ratty particle board box I'd been tripping around in the back yard. "Is that a tweeter at the bottom?" Laid it on its side and saw an EV tweeter from the back! Ran out to my car and got some screwdrivers. Thirty minutes later I had an EV T350 tweeter, EV 828HF mid, a freakin' huge crossover (tore it loose) and two pots. Found the destroyed front panel and it had pieces of the EV trim on it. All these single bits and pieces are killing me. apparently the T-350 sells for nearly $400 . Tested fine at 8.25 ohms. Owner of the house died and the renter/friend is handling things. He was a real packrat. Oh yeah, $2 for it all. Still hoping for the legs.

You remind me of a friend I had back in high school that seemed to be able to find Indian arrow heads and such anywhere we walked... even a gravel parking lot.

How could anyone pass those up at that sort of price?

Doesn't look promising. I was in the backyard the last time. Today I realised that there is an in-ground swimming pool. The weeds and rushes are at least eight feet tall! Must be a swamp at the bottom and maybe an alligator (rumor has it) . House and yard are a mess. There is a huge 500 gallon underground fiberglass water tank in the driveway amongst other things. Dozens of large communications cabinets here and there. Maybe, as the rooms get cleared out there is a chance in hell that the legs might show up. Not much to do with all the single drivers and cabinets except to part out I guess.
