Spain doesn't lose a game in 35 matches. We are European Champions but the US team are physically and tactically very strong, and plays aggressively and objectively with the eyes in the opponent net all the time. It was not a surprise for me because in the Korea/Japan Mundial Cup - a few years ago - you guys win against Portugal, which are one of strongest European teams. Your goal keeper - Howard - who plays in Everton, UK is one of the best goal keepers in the world.
I predict a very interesting 2010 Mundial Cup.

if the US can play more consistently then i would agree with you. i think they got lucky in this tournament and caught Spain at just the right time.

Everybody in the U.S. knows one person who gives a whit about soccer.
One person. Perhaps one family, because the kids play.
My son played when he was 6.
I played intramurally in college, and on a city team. It was fun,
but I have no interest in watching it, other than the World Cup.
People tend to tune in to watch "their people."
Their country, their race. Generally, American blacks only
watch the "country club" sports, tennis and soccer,
if the Williamsisters or Tiger Woods is playing.

The U.S. Pro Futbol league is lame, and if you don't believe it, watch
5 minutes of the Euro leagues, or any other top international team,
then compare.
When nil-nil is a common score, or 1-nil, it loses the interest of a lot of fans.
Some people watch NeckCar, where the driver has to know how
to make 500 miles of left turns...
Then again, I taught tennis for years, and lots of people can't sit
and watch a tennis match. I'll be checking out the second week of
Wimbledon, as I have the first.

Personal preference, I guess.
