Big speed increases, Just downloaded it at work, not really authorized to do that, but oh well. it loads pages very very fast. the tabbing is different too, but an improvement imo. havent had much else time to look it over too much, but what I see, I like so far.

Mine auto updates, so I got it awhile back. Took a day or so to get used to the new icons, but works great!

An excellent question!

My very first exposure to the internet was in 1998, when my local public library installed a crapload of PCs connected to the internet. I was delighted to see that they'd installed Netscape, because even back then, there were complaints about IE! I've been using Nutscrape/Mozilla/Firefox since then, and only use IE for Windows Updates.

My semi-educated layman's guess is that since IE has been bundled with M$ OS'es since the days of Win95, average people don't even look for a different browser because IE is already there and it works well enough. Heck, people don't even update their OS or virus definitions, never mind do research on browsers!

my issue with Internet Horror is not that it is an inferior browser or is embedded into the OS (i suppose either of these would be reason enough to dislike it), but that it invites malicious attacks from malware and hijacker programs.
