i've begun looking at blu-ray players. ideally i'd like a universal type player, but i havent find any that do both SACD and DVD-A. anyone know of any that do?

also i'd prefer region free with both NTSC and PAL formats as well, and what about HDCD?

At a recent audiophile get-together, the Oppo wasxall the rage.

Handles DVD, BLU-RAY, DVD-A, SACD, HDCD, PAL, NTSC, and great sound.

It sounded good to me, and they are relatively wallet friendly.

I should mention you can also use the player as a stand-alone into 7 Amps. It has 7.1 outs.

Also has USB and HDMI.

There's a lower priced standard DVD/DVD-A/SACD/HDCD Oppo as well.

It's very low profile. You could option to run this universal low profile player, and a second Blu-Ray player or Sony playstation.

Is it an issue with space?

space is not an issue, but i would rather get it all in one package rather than have two players in the same system.

I looked around a bit, and by the time you'd get a cheaper version of both, you'd still end up spending the ducats to buy one single Oppo all-in-one.

So, when's movie night? I'll bring the Jiffy-Pop.

I concur with Paul, Oppo is in deed a very all-around player.
...and if you dampening it you'll see/listen what a great player it really is. wink.gif
