i used to bandy around quite a bit in Access. i have a few database applications under my belt and even sold 2 copies of one of them. my favorite version even today is Access 97. for me development time in A97 is quickest and i am much more comfortable with the A97 interface. i have been dabbling a bit in Access 2003 (XP) recently and i am glad that MS finally came out with a decent successor to A97, though the interface still bugs me.

Maybe we can use your expertise for a speaker DB with surround / XO info?

the problem there is that it would be an Access97 database, useless to anyone without Access97 or a later version. if we could post the results (say in a sub forum of Speakers) on ST, it seems to me that would be better.

That's something to bear in mind and relatively easy to implement. Though, I'd rather see most of such results posted in this particular forum than scattered as sub-forums throughout Sound Thinking. If the amount of content becomes too great, the such categorization can be undertaken.

So, what kind of databases shall come into being? I'm thinking a crossover capacitor value reference could be very useful same for foam surround types (size, cone edge type, roll size, etc) with regards to speakers.
